High School Academic Pathways Coordinator

Permanent, Part time 0.5 FTTE

The academic pathways coordinator will work with students in years 9-13 to co-construct their individual academic pathway both during their time at Michael Park and in their post-school trajectory.

The ideal candidate will have a solid overview of a wide range of subjects and appreciate how these contribute to an overall holistic education now and for the students’ futures. An understanding of both NCEA and Steiner Certificate of Education is a distinct advantage. Flexibility, a positive attitude and the ability to think creatively to solve problems, with students at the centre of their thinking, are required traits. A clear and effective listener and communicator, they will work closely with students, families, colleagues, SENCO, careers advisor and the High School DP to understand and support individuals on their unique journey.

The role will commence at the start of Term 1, 2022.

Applicants must have current NZ teacher registration. Successful candidates will have an understanding of Steiner philosophy and pedagogy that is the basis of our school.

Applications close Sunday 11th July 2021.

Please complete this application form and email with your current CV and letter of introduction to [email protected].

Eurythmy Teacher

Expressions of Interest

Michael Park School is seeking expressions of interest for a Eurythmy teacher. Eurythmy is a highly valued subject in our school, among faculty, students and the community. Michael Park School is an established school in Auckland. Our current enrolment is 410 students from Early Childhood through to Class 12, and we are seeking to grow in the coming years.

We are looking for an experienced Eurythmy teacher with diploma and pedagogical-eurythmy training (preferably with NZ teacher registration, though this is not essential). A successful applicant would have respect and openness to work with Māori spiritual and cultural values and to uphold the Treaty of Waitangi. Key tasks would be:

  • Teaching to the Eurythmy curriculum, incorporating Māori material where possible
  • Creating Eurythmy performance opportunities for students, particularly as part of festivals and plays
  • Developing an understanding of and support for Eurythmy in the wider school community, with the possibility of Eurythmy classes for staff and/or parents
  • Caring for and maintaining the Eurythmy teaching space
  • Working with the accompanist as required and giving advice and support as necessary

To express your interest please address the above criteria and email to Terry Storer (Principal) of Michael Park School [email protected]

“At Michael Park School we create the space where your child will form purposeful and lifelong relationships, and where inspiration is fostered to enable them to be the best that they can be.”

Desmond Pemerika – Principal
